Uriel Posada leaves Univision El Paso for crossover to ABC13 Houston

September 21, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

After spending his entire career in Spanish-language media, Uriel Posada has landed his first job at an English-language station.

He is stepping down as regional news director at Entravision-owned Univision affiliate KINT in El Paso to take on a new role as executive producer at at KTRK-TV ABC13 Houston.

“Working in English media and in a powerhouse such as KTRK is an honor and an opportunity to put in practice what I have learned in the Spanish media world that has given me so much,” Posada tells Media Moves.

“I thank the Walt Disney Company, ABC 13, Keaton Fox and Wendy Granato for this opportunity. As a Latino, I think it is very important for big media companies to have employees from diverse backgrounds and I think my background can add to telling the stories of such a diverse city as Houston.”

Posada joined Univision 26 El Paso as news director in 2013 and was promoted to regional news director in 2016.

His last day at KINT is September 30. He starts at the ABC O&O in Houston October 11.
