Daniel Shoer Roth takes on new role as service journalism editor at Miami Herald

January 3, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Daniel Shoer Roth has joined the editing ranks, marking his cross-over into English-language news. He has been promoted to service journalism editor for the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald.

His appointment kicks off the creation of the Service Journalism Desk for both publications with the goal to broaden reporting on communities and issues not previously covered.

In his new role, Shoer Roth will be supervising service journalism and El Nuevo reporters.

A native of Venezuela, Shoer Roth joined El Nuevo Herald in 1999. During his tenure at the paper, he has worked as a bilingual metro columnist, reporter and audience growth producer.

His previous promotion was in 2019, when he moved up from news reporter to digital growth producer for elNuevoHerald.com.
