Myrka Dellanos and Giselle Blondet return to TV for launch of Telemundo talk show

L to R: Alix Aspe, Myrka Dellanos, Giselle Blondet and Verónica Bastos.

Myrka Dellanos and Giselle Blondet are making a return to TV on Telemundo Network.

Both longtime Univision hosts will join Verónica Bastos and Alix Aspe as part of Telemundo’s new weekday afternoon entertainment talk show La Mesa Caliente.

Presented as a program akin to The View, with “four empowered women, each representing different perspectives and opinions,” the hosts will “discuss the biggest stories and entertainment news of the day, as well as the most controversial real-life issues affecting the U.S. Hispanic community.”

According to sources, Telemundo had explored producing an all-female round table-type talk show years ago but the concept never prospered.

Dellanos is best known for co-hosting Univision’s Primer Impacto for 12 years. She was a guest host on The View in 2006. Her last TV anchoring job was with Estrella TV in Los Angeles from 2013 to 2015, where she anchored network shows El Noticiero EstrellaTV con Myrka and En Exclusiva con Myrka Dellanos.

Blondet, who began her career as a telenovela actress, was part of the inaugural hosting team of Univision’s Despierta América in 1997. Following her departure from the morning show in 2005, she has hosted various TV shows and reality competitions, including Univision’s Nuestra Belleza Latina over the span of seven years and Telemundo’s single season of Gran Hermano. She returned to Univision in 2017 to host one season of Pequeños Gigantes USA.

Verónica Bastos recently cohosted Telemundo’s La Casa de los Famosos Sin Censura and was guest co-host on En Casa con Telemundo. She has spent more than two decades hosting entertainment shows, red carpets and specials in the U.S. and Mexico.

Emmy-award winner Alix Aspe began her career at Telemundo in charge of social media for Noticias Telemundo and Al Rojo Vivo, where she also produced and presented the segment Famosos En La Red. She was also the social media content creator for Un Nuevo Día. In 2020, she joined Telemundo’s LatinX Now team and later En Casa con Telemundo.

La Mesa Caliente premieres March 7 and will air Monday – Friday at 3 pm ET.
