Karen Taffanelli headlines revamped Telemundo Abilene newscast

February 2, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Nexstar Media Group-owned KTAB has revamped its Telemundo station’s on-air look and hired Karen Taffanelli as weekday anchor for Noticias Abilene.

Taffanelli was brought on board as a solo anchor to replace Arim Herrera, who left Telemundo Abilene last year seeking other opportunities out of state.

Prior to her move to the Texas station, Taffanelli worked in radio and TV roles in Florida, most recently as a creator and producer for the Nexstar Broadcasting’s Spanish newscast Noticias Tampa Hoy for WFLA in Tampa.

She has also worked as a news producer at Telemundo 31, as well as radio news anchor, producer, and talent at Entravision and iHeartMedia in Orlando.

Taffanelli is from Puerto Rico.
