Gabe Gutierrez moves to DC for senior White House correspondent role

August 19, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe Leave a Comment

Gabe Gutierrez is taking on the role of senior White House correspondent at NBC News, joining the network’s D.C. team as it prepares for the 2024 presidential election.

Until recently, he was national correspondent based in New York, reporting for all platforms of NBC News, including “Today,” “NBC Nightly News,” MSNBC, NBCLatino.com, msnbc.com, as well as Telemundo.

Since joining NBC News in 2012, he has covered some of the biggest stories in the U.S. and abroad, including the coronavirus pandemic, immigration and southern border issues, the death of George Floyd, and the 2022 midterm elections. Internationally, he has reported from Ukraine and this year’s earthquakes in Turkey.

He’ll join the White House team in early September.

Prior to NBC News, Gutierrez worked as a City Hall reporter for KHOU 11 News in Houston. Before that, he was a weekend morning anchor and reporter at ABC affiliate WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan.
