TelevisaUnivision expands Daniel Coronell’s news oversight company-wide in U.S.

September 26, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Less than a month since rejoining TelevisaUnivision as news president, the company has expanded Daniel Coronell’s role company-wide in the U.S.

In an internal communication, staffers were told that effective immediately, all news programming across the organization will be consolidated under Coronell, adding the “strategic decision aligns editorial content between network news and local stations.”

The consolidation, the company says, will “foster tighter editorial alignment… centralize our operational capabilities and enhance the cross-promotion of news content.”

As part of the change, the company will establish a new, as-yet-untitled position for a “unified function lead” to whom local news directors will report. This lead will be answer to Coronell.

The company did not provide a timeline for the position to be filled, but stated it is “actively engaged in identify the most qualified candidate” who will work with all news directors on “everything from hiring, performance management, editorial alignment, content development, and more.”

Bye Bye Byeee to the Magid stupid idea to produce news for dummies!!! Local viewers are intelligent and want hard news!

Chris and Diane were sinking the boat so bad with their terrible mission.

Now News Directors will be tested! The smile and wave policy is over!!! Survives who knows how to lead a hard news winning team! Not a “amiguitos “ club that Pena encouraged !

Ese acuerdo fue logrado por una compañera muy querida aca, long ago. You blatantly lie !
In fact, I sh** you not, si NewsCorp hubiera sabido que la era Coronell regresaba a Newsport, ese negocio del debate se habria desinflado.

Daniel, Definitely the station that needs attention is New York a disaster!!.The last two years, dozens of employees have left due to the terrible working conditions and the out-of-control demands (directora de desastres que no sabe nada de noticias ) Univision 41 #1 regardless of language in 2020 now has become a third-rate station, it is definitely necessary to make changes in this ASAP .. will takes 5 years be # 1again..

Honestly, the network news department is so small that doesn’t deserve a dedicated News President. Daniel Coronell came with a broom to sweep. get readynfor more layoffs, and restructuring with mire layers of vicepresidents.
    Welcome back to Isaac Lee.
