Kristie Gonzales

Kristie Gonzales continues her upwards move at TEGNA. She has been named president and general manager of the company’s Atlanta duopoly WXIA (NBC) and WATL (MyNetworkTV).

The move marks a 29-market jump from Austin, where she is currently president and GM at KVUE and TEGNA’s VP of Media Operations.

In the latter company position, she has oversight of Texas stations KBMT/KJAC in Beaumont, KYTX in Tyler, KCEN/KAGS in Waco and Bryan-College Station, KWES in Midland-Odessa, and KXVA/KIDY in Abilene and San Angelo. She will continue this role with her new responsibilities in Atlanta.

Her last day in Austin in October 13. She begins leading the Atlanta stations October 23.

In her new role, Gonzales will be responsible for overseeing the stations’ operations across all platforms, as well as community outreach efforts and driving results for advertisers.

She joined TEGNA’s ABC affiliate KVUE in 2016.
