Pedro Rivera leaves KTLA for anchor job at WABC

January 17, 2024 by Veronica Villafañe

Anchor and reporter Pedro Rivera has signed off from KTLA after spending two years at Los Angeles station.

The New York native moved to NYC for a job at WABC and to be close to family.

Rivera will be co-anchoring weekend mornings and reporting on weekdays at ABC 7 Eyewitness News starting in February.

Prior to L.A., he was a morning news anchor at KTXL Fox 40 News from 2019 to 2021. Before moving to the anchor desk, he also worked as a general assignment reporter at the Sacramento station for over two years.

Rivera was previously a reporter at KHBS-KHOG in Fort Smith, Ark. and also worked as a photographer and editor at WFSB in Hartford, Conn.

Pedro, I really enjoyed you at Weekends on KTLA and recently noticed you hadn’t been on the past two weekends. So I had to check and I see you have made the move back home to the Big Apple. I miss seeing your handsome face and smooth reporting. You are missed. Best of luck with your new endeavors as you have so much to offer and give of yourself. Keep on Salsa Dancing

I really haven’t enjoyed the KTLA weekend morning crew since the passing of Chris Burrows. And it’s been a real hodgepodge since Lynette Romero left. Too many faces at the anchor desk at once and no stability.
