Tiscareño leaves Ahora Utah, heads to La Opinión

Josie Tiscareño, who has been with Ahora Utah since its launch four years ago is moving on.  She has been hired as an Editor-at-Large at La Opinión. She starts the new job on April 11.

Josie has been the editor of Ahora Utah since 2009.

About joining La Opinión Josie tells me:”This ‘move’ means a new challenge to me in professional terms as well as a new opportunity to further develop my skills in Spanish-language journalism. I believe this is an era of opportunities for the Spanish-language media in the U.S., and both impreMedia and La Opinion seem to be taking such a reality very seriously. Therefore, I am committed to work at my new assignment with great enthusiasm and dedication and to meet my new responsibilities to the fullest.”

I'm an Emmy award-winning journalist, who's worked as an on-air reporter in Spanish and English-language television news. I've worked for Univision, Telemundo, CNN en Español and Los Angeles Fox and UPN stations before diving into a convergence model at the San Jose Mercury News, later to enter the online digital sphere. I am currently the West Coast Web editor for impreMedia. I was president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists from 2004 to 2006. I am also a freelance writer, reporter and producer and a columnist for Poder Hispanic magazine. I founded Media Moves in June of 2007.
