WWSI Telemundo 62 Philadelphia has hired two new reporters. Alexandra Galarza and Brian Mendoza join the station’s news team effective today.

Galarza comes on board as general assignment reporter and Mendoza will be South Jersey reporter.

Both will report for the station’s 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 pm weekday newscasts.

Their additions round the reporter pool to six, which currently includes Iris Delgado, Inés Ferré, Christian Cázares and Andrea Cruz.

Galarza previously spent 18 months as a multimedia journalist and reporter at WUVP Univision 65 in Philadelphia. Before that, she was a sales coordinator, on-air personality and production assistant at WUVG Univision 34 in Atlanta from 2014 to 2015.

Mendoza arrives to Telemundo 62 from Spanish-language station WUNI Univision 27 in Boston, where he was a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor since 2015. He previously worked as an anchor, reporter and producer at the Telemundo affiliate in Abilene, Texas.

Both Galarza and Mendoza are originally from Ecuador.
