Rosabal joins Telemundo

March 6, 2012 by Veronica Villafañe

Sylvia Rosabal has been named Senior Vice President of Network News of Telemundo. She will report to Alina Falcon, Executive Vice President, News and Alternative Programming.

Sylvia will oversee all network news content and be responsible for editorial direction, programming, and production of on-air and online news properties including “Noticiero Telemundo,” Sunday news program “Enfoque con Jose Diaz-Balart,” the news content of “Levántate,” as well as other related network news programming such as breaking news and specials. She will also have operational oversight of “Al Rojo Vivo,” hosted by María Celeste Arrarás.

Sylvia was ousted from Univision in January of 2011, after a management change.  She had been with the company for 26 years. Her last job at Univision was as Vice President of News, a post she held from 2002 to 2011, responsible for a broad range of the network’s news programming, including “Noticiero Univision,” political coverage, news magazines, public affairs programs, news specials, and breaking news coverage.

She was previously Univision’s Assistant News Director from 1995 to 2002. Prior to that, she was Executive Producer in charge of political coverage and special events since 1991.
