Chávez named GM of KVEA, replacing Cancela

May 7, 2012 by Veronica Villafañe

Celia Chávez has been named President and General Manager at KVEA- 52 in Los Angeles, effective immediately.

She replaces José Cancela, who was named to that position in August of 2011. José will remain in Telemundo in a yet to be announced leadership role.

Celia was most recently President and General Manager of Telemundo WSNS-Chicago, a position she has held since 2009. She was previously President and General Manager of two Telemundo stations – KBLR-Las Vegas and KDEN-Denver. Before that, she was Vice President and General Manager of Telemundo KVDA-San Antonio from 2006-2008.

Before joining Telemundo, she worked at KWHY-TV and Galavision.
