MundoFox debuts new series replacing El Capo

The second season of the drug-trafficking series “El Capo” came to an end on Monday night and a new crime drama is taking its place.  “La Mariposa” debuts tonight at 9 pm ET.

The series, starring María Adelaida Puerta and Michel Brown and co-produced by Fox and RCN Colombia, is based on an original story by investigative reporter, Gerardo Reyes, about the life of an attractive and intelligent woman who is an international fugitive pursued by the U.S. government.

The woman, Alicia Benitez, better known as “La Mariposa,” is in charge of a money laundering ring created to support the drug trafficking trade between the U.S. and Colombia.   Michel Brown plays an special agent fighting the drug trade, who ends up falling in love with “La Mariposa.”
