Telemundo announces DC leadership team

December 14, 2017 by Veronica Villafañe

As Media Moves reported in October, Janette Luviano was named News Director of Telemundo Washington’s O&O, originally set to launch in December, after severing its affiliate agreement with ZGS.

The plans have changed since then. Last week, the Telemundo Station Group announced it was acquiring ZGS’s 13 TV stations and will begin operating the station under a local marketing agreement (LMA) until the FCC approves the transaction and construction permit applications for WZDC and other stations.

As Telemundo prepares for the transition, the company has confirmed that Luviano will continue to lead the station’s newsroom and announced two additions to the DC leadership team.

Will Hildebrandt has been named VP of Sales and Néstor Alvarenga will oversee the station’s community affairs strategies as Community Manager.

Luviano was most recently Executive Producer at WNJU Telemundo 47 in New York.

Prior to this appointment, Hildebrandt was Director of Business Development for the Telemundo Station Group.

Alvarenga joins WZDC Telemundo from the Office of Community Partnerships in Montgomery County, Maryland where he worked as Latin American Community Liaison.
