John Carlos Estrada

Estrada joins CBS Austin as morning anchor

August 5, 2019 by Veronica Villafañe

John-Carlos Estrada jumps 15 markets to land at KEYE-TV in Austin as weekday morning news anchor.

He starts the new job at the CBS affiliate on August 15.

His return to Texas puts him on the anchor desk full-time.

Estrada leaves WINK News in Fort Myers/Naples, where he has been weekend evening anchor and reporter since January 2017.

He’ll be doing a quick turnaround. His last day on-air at the Florida CBS affiliate is this Sunday, August 11. He’ll only have a three-day break before starting at KEYE.

Before WINK News, Estrada was a news anchor at KTRE in Lufkin, Texas from 2014 to 2017. He started his broadcast career at KAVU-TV in Victoria, Texas.
