Telemundo names Vanessa Hauc anchor of weekend newscast

March 19, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

Vanessa Hauc is moving to Telemundo network’s weekend anchor desk.

She will take over as anchor of “Noticias Telemundo Fin de Semana,” which airs Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 pm ET/5:30 pm CT, from Julio Vaqueiro, who held the role since November 2017.

Vaqueiro was tapped to anchor the newly launched Noticias Telemundo late-night weekday newscast airing at 11:35 pm ET/10:35 pm CT, which is currently dedicated to COVID-19 coverage.

For the past three years, Hauc has been a senior correspondent for Noticias Telemundo.

A Peruvian native, she will continue leading the investigative unit on environmental issues at the networks’ news program “Planeta Tierra.”

Hauc joined Telemundo in 2002 as a reporter and co-host of “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste.”

I knew she was gonna get an anchor job, she has worked hard for it, I thought she do this new late-night show. But I knew they were gonna give her a spot. After debating in Vegas and everything. I knew it was inevitable, she was eventually gonna get a spot, she’ll be great. When’s her start date.

    She’s a good anchor… but investigative reporter she ain’t!

Vanessa is nice and I think this is well-deserved. I just can’t help but think about how liberal and liberal-activist she is. She doesn’t even try to make it look like she’s considering other point of views. Every time she does her Global Warming coverage is a propaganda.
I like Felicidad Aveleyra. I think she comes across as the most serious and “impartial”. Not sure what her political stance is (I would imagine Liberal, as all that newsroom, but it doesn’t show and she tries to sound “balanced”) that’s what I like about her. Plus very pleasant and professional.
I noticed they’ve been inviting Myrka Dellanos to do Al Rojo Vivo and Un Nuevo Dia and I think Myrka would be a good addition to do the news with Diaz-Balart. She has a lot of experience and name recognition. S he might be another liberal, but I guess there are no conservatives in Latin Media. As long as she tries to at least be balanced it would be good to have her.

You are giving her too much credit as for any ideological leaning.
Most of the national talents in both U or T, have a no-say whatsoever in the political field. She was a docile and inexpensive option.
The lack of engagement and knowledge in how our system works, speaks volumes about those anchors. And is often, embarrassing.
And the few that probably would, are immediately called upon disciplinary actions such “cleaning” their social postings or keeping it quiet in order to keep collecting. This ain’t new in the news business. Agendas and HR mementos are kept close and closer to those who adventure in “thinking”
Felicidad is good to the eye, but remember why she got the boot from LA, just a “former beauty queen from the Mexican TV pipeline” , that had no idea about the mechanics of this side of the border. That’s a fact.
Myrka back to ARV? stay tuned. MCA wont keep it quiet.
She has been able to survive alone and axing anyone getting too close to comfort, besides her level of reading, like a second grader.
And don’t even try to have Diaz Balart in entertaining the idea of adopting Dellanos. It did not work when T was about to get rid of MCA nor it would with anyone else. Diaz Balart will milk his last name all the way to his Medicare due date.
