James Munoz

Muñoz named news director at KAVU

July 21, 2020 by Veronica Villafañe

James Muñoz is now officially news director at KAVU. He had been serving as interim ND since February, in addition to anchoring.

Muñoz had recently moved from the station’s morning show to anchor the 5, 6 and 10 pm newscasts.

In mid-March, he left the anchor desk to focus on overseeing pandemic coverage.

He returned to co-anchoring the Newscenter25 at 5 pm newscast in late June.

Muñoz will remain in that seat, in addition to running the newsroom.

Prior to his arrival to the Victoria station in 2017, Muñoz worked in seven other Texas television newsrooms since 1998, including KVII, KIII, KTRE, KSAN, KENS, and KWES.
