Angélica Atondo and Melissa Aguilar get anchor role promotions at KTAZ

March 15, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

KTAZ Telemundo 39 has promoted multimedia journalists Angélica Atondo and Melissa Aguilar, effective immediately.

Atondo becomes lead anchor of Noticiero Telemundo Arizona on weekdays at 5 and 10 PM. She’ll be co-anchoring alongside Daniel Aguirre.

She replaces Ana Guerra, who left the station last year.

Atondo arrived to Telemundo Arizona in 2019. She moves to weekdays from her role as weekend anchor and MMJ.

Aguilar, who joined the station as an MMJ more than two years ago, takes over the weekend anchor spot left vacant by Atondo. She’ll also continue reporting on weekdays, covering education.
