Jose Diaz Balart

José Díaz-Balart returns to MSNBC for new daily show

September 7, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

José Díaz-Balart is returning to MSNBC to once again host his own morning show on the cable news network.

“José Díaz-Balart Reports” will air weekdays at 10 a.m. ET., starting September 27.

He’ll continue to be based in Miami.

Due to his new role, he’ll step down as anchor “Noticias Telemundo” at the end of the month. He has led Telemundo network’s nightly newscast since 2009. But he will still have a very busy schedule.

Díaz-Balart will continue to anchor “NBC Nightly News Saturday,” which he took over in 2016. He’ll also anchor Noticias Telemundo monthly specials and breaking news events and special coverage across multiple platforms, including Peacock.

He’ll be the only anchor to host national news programs on both cable and broadcast television in English and Spanish.

He previously anchored “The Daily Rundown With José Díaz Balart,” which aired weekday mornings on MSNBC from 2014 to 2016.

My institutions say Julio Vaquero will replace him at 6:30. But I have some other interesting paring bring back Ana Patricia Candiani and work the 20th anniversary of the attacks around the corner she was on the air with Telemundo when the attacks happened, you could have her and Julio Vaquero since they were together locally in LA. Now they went national, or she could solo anchor. But that’s good or they could steal a Univisiom personality like Felix De Bedout or even rehire Enriwue Acevedo and partner up with Ana Patrcia Candiani. And if Julio we’re to be tapped to 6:30 Rebeka Smyth could replace him at 11:35 but she’s pregnant about to go on maternity leave anyways.

The fact is that he must been pretty unhappy after being removed from the Telemundo Kingdom. He would have never abandoned such throne.
MSNBC at 10 am ET is a dummy, keeping him in Miami tells you how tight his budget and negotiations were. At least, he was not fired, he is keeping a check every 2 weeks.
My take ? His aura already faded off and his last name ain’t no longer as needed as before.
Vaqueiro would match, yes. At the end, is what Telemundo is looking for. And way cheaper.
And you might also brought a good point. The rumors about Mr Spain retiring soon and Coronell still living in Miami, could be a chance for DeBedout to jump ships. But Bedout is not wanted in Newsport Doral, so I dunno how he would be in Beacon Telemundo, among all the expats from the Univision golden years.
Anyhow, is Latino Media. Everything goes.
The revolving door never stops in the Ñ world.

This is a weird move. José is an institution and is a heavy boxer and image for the network. This does not sound right…

What Telemundo really needs to do is start reporting what their slogan says… “Las Cosas Como Son” and stop just being a mouthpiece of the Dems and Liberals. Univision already is doing news promoting socialist ideas, and even them sometimes go against the Dems establishment, but Telemundo is always on the bandwagon for the Dems and demonizing Conservatives. It’s a shame and a disgrace.

They are missing a great opportunity. If they would try to do “BALANCED” honest and fair reporting, along with good analysis with good analysts and not the socialists GOP-hating crowd, they would attract many viewers that are hungry for other perspectives and real news. How can they dare to still have the attorney from LA that alarmed everyone claiming that Trump was going to deport LEGAL citizens, when that never happened. Or that woman Ana Navarro, who hated Trump t i the point she said he needed to Drop from the Human Race. That was HATE at its best or worst. No one that says things like that of ANY US President, regardless of political party, should be praised or be allowed as an analyst on TV.

By the way, we like Ana Patricia Candiani too. She was great. We think a better move though, would be to bring Myrka Dellanos. She’s talented, BILINGUAL, and has experience and good professional background. She would’ve been great presenting the news along with Diaz Balart. We do like Felicidad, she always seems to be human, professional and at least tries to not appear biased. The morning news hosts Nicole and Arantza are good too. And Nacho is good, although he’s following the Telemundo LIBERAL influence. We used to be big fans of Vaqueiro, but we’re disappointed and disgusted with the biased news.

Please change your producers or mentality. Don’t be a promotional tool for Biden and the Dems, please do NEWS, the way that you claim… Las Cosas Como Son.

      Is very simple.
Jose is being removed due ratings and payroll.
And Vaqueiro is doing exactly what he was brought in to do from Mexico: to wait in line and repeat the mantra.
None of the rest you mentioned above, have the gravitas nor the knowledge to carry a national Newscast. Most of them have barely lived in the States.
And Myrka is The Past. And not into News.

Yes national news is a tough industry. Jose had second place his whole tenure as presenter for
Noticiero/Noticias Telemundo. Actually when he initially got the role ratings were worst then Sevcec tenure. It took to the World Cup on Telemundo in 2018 for it weekend editions to beat Univision’s weekend news.

Yeah I believe Jose-Diaz is becoming a liberal even though on paper he might be independent or republican. Myrka has good chance hadn’t she not go the Estrella TV route. Julio’s anti-Trump bias is for real you can heat it in his voice every time he says Trump it’s funny to me. Mr. Spain needs to go he made Telemundo and turned it into blancamundo. I liked HoyDia but it felt like Telewhite striking again. I would like to see a brown skin Afro-Latina on the news team.

Glad to see that we’re not the only ones to see the bias in their news. It’s very unfortunate and it’s a disservice to the Hispanic community that they claim to care about. They are missing a big opportunity here.

And here’s my response to three of the things other mentioned here.
        1) Yes, it’s true and also very upsetting when the networks go to Mexico or other places to get their talent, like Nacho, when there are so many talented Latinos here. It’s not their fault, but it’s not always right. At least Nacho is good, even though he’s following the Telemundo bias mantra.
        2) Telemundo News being second is no surprise. And it’s not Diaz Balart’s fault by any means. He’s good. He does have a lot of knowledge and good personality. We just hate the fact that he has to play a Liberal so he can keep his job. But the truth is when you have Univision historically dominating in many markets for most of the time slots, with viewers just accustomed to them, it’s hard to compete, even when Univision products and shows are not necessarily better, or in many case worse. And then, why would many switch to Telemundo when Univision is already providing the biased ‘feel good socialist content’ and Telemundo is nothing different. If anything, it’s even more biased at times. Many would tune in if Telemundo would offer a more fair, balanced news program with a variety of perspectives and good analysis.
        3) I’m sorry to hear that someone thinks Myrka is the past. The issue is that many ask for new talent, but when new talent is hired then many complaint that they don’t have the experience, knowledge and credibility necessary. Qualities that someone like Myrka does have. But then when someone like Myrka is considered, she is said to be someone from the past.
Whatever they do, they should shkeup the newsroom mentality (and the network’s in general) and make a difference, honoring their slogan by really helping the community presenting not an agenda and their personal preferences or believes, but “Las Cosas Como REALMENTE Son”.
