White House Correspondent Janet Rodriguez quits Univision for corporate comms job at Meta

December 13, 2021 by Veronica Villafañe

Janet Rodríguez has resigned from Univision, after more than five years as the network’s White House correspondent.

Her last day at Univision was Friday, December 10.

The Emmy-award winning journalist is moving on to a corporate communications job at Facebook’s parent company Meta Platforms.

Starting in early January, she’ll start a new role as internal communications manager for WhatsApp.

Rodríguez leaves a career in news that also includes three years as Telemundo Network correspondent, based in Chicago.

“I leave the industry full of gratitude, having covered some of the biggest local and national stories of the past 15 years,” she tells Media Moves.

Rodríguez will continue to be based in the Washington, D.C. area.

“Now my professional growth will continue in a very exciting industry, with a position that will challenge me but that also aligns with my current priorities of spending more time with my family and young child”.
