February 7, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Mireya Villarreal has joined ABC network as a Dallas-based correspondent.

She was previously West Coast correspondent at CBS News, a role she held since 2015.

The move marks a return to her home state, where she started her broadcast career.

Before she made her way up to network news, Villarreal was an investigative reporter for KTVT, the CBS O&O in Dallas. She also worked as an investigative reporter for NBC affiliate WOAI in San Antonio  and as a reporter for KRGV Newschannel 5 in the Rio Grande Valley.

She landed her first on-air job in 2004 as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at KGNS in Laredo.
