Univision names Pedro Rojas Washington, DC correspondent

February 7, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Pedro Rojas has moved to Univision’s Washington, DC bureau as network news correspondent, where he’ll be covering the White House and government.

He steps into the position left vacant by Janet Rodríguez, who left in December 2021 for a corporate communications job for Meta’s WhatsApp.

Rojas previously spent seven years as the network’s Texas-based correspondent. Before that, he was a reporter and anchor for KXLN-45 Univision Houston from 2004 to 2014.

Prior to Univision, he was an executive producer and news anchor for Independent News Network’s now-defunct Spanish-language news service in Davenport, Iowa.

A Venezuelan native, he landed his first U.S. broadcast job in 2001 at KSVN Channel 66 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He also worked as a TV, radio and newspaper reporter in Venezuela.
