Tegna taps Humberto Hormaza to lead Hartford stations

March 10, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Humberto Hormaza has been named president and general manager of Tegna’s FOX and CW affiliates (WTIC-WCCT) in Hartford, Conn.

He’ll be responsible for overseeing operations for both stations across all platforms.

He started his new role this week.

Hormaza arrives to WTIC-WCCT from Entravision Communications in Orlando, where he spent the last 8 years, first as VP of Integrated Marketing Solutions, overseeing local sales for the company’s television, radio and digital platforms, which included Univision Orlando (WVEN-TV) and UniMás Orlando (WOTF-TV). He was promoted to SVP and general manager in 2016.

Before that, he was local sales manager at WJAN and WFUN and led the launch of the now defunct MundoFOX in Miami from 2011 to 2014.

Hormaza was previously business development manager at WFOR and WBFS television stations serving the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market. He began his career as an account executive at WFOR.
