WNJU Telemundo 47 New York announced an addition, a new position and promotions as part of a series of changes in its anchor lineup.

Alejandro Mendoza is leaving his anchor role at KTMD Telemundo Houston to start as the New York station’s new 6 and 11 pm weekday anchor on April 18. He has been weekday anchor in Houston since 2018.

Anchor and reporter David Rodríguez will become the new investigative reporter and head of Telemundo 47 Investiga when the unit relaunches in late April. He’ll move into the new role while continuing to anchor the station’s 5 and 5:30 pm weekday newscasts. Rodríguez joined WNJU in 2020.

Rosarina Bretón will be moving from weekends to weekdays, joining David Rodríguez as co-anchor of the 5 and 5:30 pm weekday newscasts. Bretón came aboard Telemundo 47 in 2018.

Cristina Navarrete, Telemundo 47’s general assignment nightside reporter, will step into Bretón’s weekend anchor role on an interim basis. Navarrete arrived to Telemundo 47 in 2016.

News anchor lineups for Noticiero 47 Telemundo Primera Edición and Noticiero 47 Telemundo Mediodía remain the same with no changes.
