Telemundo names Marta Planells director of digital news

May 23, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Marta Planells has been named director of digital news at Noticias Telemundo.

In her new role, she will oversee content on Noticias Telemundo’s website, mobile app and social media platforms.

She was previously senior manager for crossplatform content and social media at the network, where she developed digital video and social media strategies for Noticias Telemundo accounts.

In 2020, Planells created Politi¿QUÉ? Noticias Telemundo’s social first franchise, which featured a video series explaining events of the presidential election.

Planells joined Noticas Telemundo in 2019 from Univision, where she spent three years as a digital producer with Primer Impacto.

Prior to moving to the U.S., Planells worked in her native Spain as a politics reporter for El Mundo.

    Marta,
Please bring balance to Telemundo at least on the news app and social media. Please! All the biased and propagandist leftist news is such a disservice to our Hispanic community. It’s sickening to so how evident and shameful it’s to see Telemundo News (and in reality all the news, specially the Spanish-language news in the US) always protecting and kissing Dems and leftist ideas, while always vilifying anything conservative and conservative leaders. We don’t need media kissing Republicans either, if not deserving or praise or support, but it would be such a refreshing change to truly see “las cosas como son” and not “las cosas como son para los democratas”.
