Salem Media Appoints Monica Rabassa as VP and GM of Miami radio stations

December 20, 2022 by Veronica Villafañe

Salem Media Group has tapped former Univision executive Monica Rabassa as VP and General Manager of its soon to be acquired cluster of radio stations in Miami.

Those stations include WWFE AM 670, its FM translator on 103.1 and WRHC AM 1550 and its FM translator on 98.7, being purchased from Fenix Broadcasting Corporation and WRHC Broadcasting Corporation; and WMYM AM 990 and its translator on FM 98.7, from Actualidad Media Group, LLC.

The transactions have been filed with the FCC and are expected to close at the beginning of 2023.

Rabassa, who exited Univision in November, arrives to Salem after more than 20 years in executive positions with Univision. Prior to joining Univision, she was Marketing Research Director for Cisneros Television Group.

Among her career highlights, she has been honored as one of the “Most Influential Women in Radio” by Radio Ink magazine (2015 through 2020) and as “Marketer of the Year” with a “Medallas de Cortez” Award in 2015.
