Clara Benitez moves back to Texas for anchor job at KRIS

April 27, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Clara Benitez returns to Texas as an evening anchor at NBC affiliate KRIS 6 in Corpus Christi.

She starts the new job May 1.

She arrives from her hometown of San Diego, where she was a reporter at KSBW Fox 5 for almost two years.

Benitez previously worked from 2018 to 2021 at KGBT, first as a reporter, before landing a weekend anchor slot. By the time she left the station, she was an evening anchor.

She got her start as an MMJ at KVAL in Eugene, Oregon.
