KCTV Extends Carolina Cruz’s Contract as Morning Anchor

June 5, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Carolina Cruz is extending her role as morning anchor at KCTV.

She has signed a multi-year contract with Gray Television’s CBS affiliate Kansas City to remain on the station’s flagship weekday morning news program, which airs from 4:30 to 7 a.m.

Prior to moving to weekday mornings last year, Cruz was weekend morning anchor and reporter for KCTV 5’s weekday newscasts since joining the station in October 2020. She also filled in as anchor for the station’s weekday evening newscasts.

She previously worked as a reporter at WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut and KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley.

Cruz is a native of Cali, Colombia, who grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She’ll be soon taking some time off the anchor desk. She’s expecting her first child in July.
