Yolanda Zugasti fills news director role at Univision 23

November 8, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Yolanda Zugasti has taken over the long vacant news director position at Univision 23.

She replaced Samuel Belilty, who exited the Miami station in March.

The move marks Zugasti’s return to Univision, where she worked from 1999 to 2011, when she lost her job during a round of management layoffs.

She went on to work at Telemundo network as executive producer of weekly political program “Enfoque with Jose Diaz-Balart” and later, as a senior producer for morning show “Un Nuevo Día.”

Zugasti most recently spent five years at CNN en Español as an executive producer for the cable net’s prime time shows.
