Daniel Coronell has been promoted a third time during his 5 years at Univision. The company announced today he is President of News, effective immediately.

He steps up from EVP and Executive Director of News, a role he has held since his most recent promotion in February of last year. He was previously SVP and Executive News Director.

Coronell joined Univision as VP and News Director in January of 2011, shortly after the arrival of Isaac Lee as Univision News president. Lee is now Chief News and Digital Officer for Univision Communications, and CEO of Fusion.

Coronell arrived to Univision from his native Colombia, where he had been Director of national newscast “Noticias Uno,” airing on Canal Uno television network. He had also directed national newscasts for RCN TV.
