FCC approves Televisa ownership increase of Univision

January 4, 2017 by Veronica Villafañe

Televisa-UnivisionFor years, foreign ownership limits have blocked Televisa from increasing its stake in Univision.

But on Tuesday, the FCC ruled that it’s ok for Televisa to own up to 49% of Univision, claiming that the foreign investment will help bring more sources of capital to the U.S. Spanish-language network and further its “service to the Hispanic community and other minority communities and advance its empowerment initiatives.”

This ruling comes six years after Televisa made a $1.2 billion investment in Univision.

You can read more details about the Televisa-Univision ruling and its impact on Forbes.

We know where this is coming from, the last favor from obama to Mr Saban to get.rid of this white elephant. Televisa got what they wanted, and Obama gives the amnesty to the rich immigrants, Just before Trump takes over the fcc. There is no ipo, this is the “take the money and run” situation Mr Power Ranger wanted. We’ll see complete newsrooms goint to Mexico. GOD SAVE MY FRIENDS.
