Alexa Rodríguez upped to news director at WNJU

March 22, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe

Alexa Rodríguez has been officially elevated to news director at WJNU Telemundo 47.

She had been leading the New York station’s newsroom as the interim news director since February, following Freddy Oldenburg’s move to Houston.

The company made the announcement today as part of three leadership promotions at the NBC-Telemundo New York duopoly.

David Manney was upped to news director at WNBC and Amy Morris to SVP of News, overseeing editorial content for the NBC and Telemundo stations.

Prior to taking on the top news role at Telemundo 47, Rodríguez spent four years as assistant news director. She first joined the station in as an executive producer in 2017.

Rodríguez previously worked at WXTV Univision 41 for more than 20 years.

Excellent news. Congratulations Alexa, hard work, passion and professional attitude at best.

Alexa is amazing!
