Bill Barajas

Bill Barajas promoted to weekend anchor at KPRC

April 21, 2023 by Veronica Villafañe Leave a Comment

Bill Barajas has landed a seat at the weekend anchor desk at KPRC 2.

A reporter at the Houston station since 2019, he takes over the spot left vacant by Jonathan Martinez who took a job as an evening anchor at WOAI News 4 San Antonio in late 2021.

Barajas is now anchoring Saturdays at 6 and 10 pm and Sundays at 5 and 10 pm, in addition to reporting weekdays.

Prior to returning home to Houston, he was a reporter at two other Texas stations: KSAT in San Antonio and KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley.

Barajas is part of an on-air news family. His father, Mike Barajas, was an anchor at KRIV for over two decades.

His brother is John Paul Barajas, who is currently a reporter at KSAT. He also has family ties at another station in Houston. His cousin, Erik Barajas, is an evening anchor at KTRK since 2008.
