Entravision rebrands, introduces new logo

This has been the year for image makeovers in the Hispanic TV landscape!  Entravision, owner of the largest group of Univision and Telefutura affiliated television stations in the country, today announced the sixth rebranding of 2012.  The all blue and black “E” logo is being replaced by a colorful swirl.

Entravision abandons black and blue logo for a new colorful version as it updates its brand identity.

According to Entravision, the new logo is “a synthesis of three elements: the World, a symbol of the global reach of our company; the Eye, a symbol of the organization’s vision; and the Ribbon, or Serpentina, which is a festive reflection of the company’s deep Latino roots.”

The new brand identity and logo are part of an initiative to provide an “overarching identity for the company’s multi-media platforms and reflects the continued growth of Entravision’s digital, mobile and marketing services, which complement the company’s core television and radio assets.”

In July of this year, Entravision did a “strategic reorganization” of its management structure, naming Jeff Liberman as COO of the company.  Other management changes were made in July, but only publicly announced in November.

Entravision is making a push to strengthen its digital assets as it looks for ways to provide “integrated marketing solutions to marketers and advertisers.”

“In addition to operating an established portfolio of leading television and radio stations in the nation’s fastest-growing Latino markets, we have also made significant progress in building our interactive assets, which are demonstrating consistent growth,” said Walter F. Ulloa, Entravision’s Chairman and CEO in a statement.  “Our media assets play an integral role in the lives of millions of Spanish-speaking consumers every day, and our new identity reflects the vibrancy of our company and the Latino communities that we serve.”

Telemundo was the first to announce a rebranding in May. Univision followed in October, revealing its new logo and brand identity. Two weeks later, also in October, Azteca América spruced up its image.  Days later, in early November, Galavisión unveiled its new logo and identity.  Telefutura underwent a complete transformation, getting renamed to Unimás during the first week of December.
